Oooh oooh OOOOOOOH!

  • Mood:
  • Music: John Butler Trio
  • Eat/Drink: Mandarin cordial
  • Reading: Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

Oh, I'm excited - my knitting mojo has returned!

B & I went to see The Golden Compass tonight. The lead character, Lyra, was dressed in some truly beautiful clothes throughout the movie but most impressive were the knitted garments she wore. B looked at me like I was mad when I started squirming in my seat and whispering, "Those legwarmers must be made from Noro Kureyon...and the jacket looks like Iro...". Most of all, I loved her hats. The online knitting community has fallen in love with this one:

It's such a simple design and so fast and easy to knit up - my fingers are itching to get started on one first thing tomorrow. I also have a soft spot for the first hat we see Lyra wearing:

I loved it and B thought it was very cute too.

So, my desire to knit has come back to me, thanks to one movie. I've read the trilogy the movie(s) are based on and can't wait to see how the next installment fares.
