Snippets of my life as a cupcake-baking, knitting, fishing aunty.
Where are you, miss your blogs!
Hi Fran glad you had a good day, keep on blogging, I love it, want to set mine up now, is it easy? Jennyxx S and B Cardiff
Just out blog hopping and dropping in to say hi! Hope you are well!
Dad took my nephew Corbin and I to see the 3rd Pirates of the Caribbean movie tonight. (It was great fun, btw, but I would recommend watching the 2nd movie again before seeing it. There were a few things that cropped up where I couldn't remember what had happened in the previous movie to lead to it.) On the way back we turned into a street on a 50+ degree incline. If you have to stop for any reason, like to let a car out of a driveway or to let a car descend the hill, you never quite regain the momentum you had at the bottom and it's near-on impossible to get up it in anything higher than 1st gear. Corbin, a very wise 6 year old, said, "You need to put NOS* on this car, Aunty Bee. It's ok, we'll get a system that won't melt the engine". He didn't quite understand why Dad and I fell about laughing.
*For those who didn't grow up in a car-crazy town like ours, NOS is a company known for its nitrous oxide systems that improve engine output by speeding up the rate and volume of fuel burnt. The serious revheads in my town have it installed on their shitty old cars to improve their performance in street drag racing. Corbin's father will be so proud to know that his boy has picked up the jargon so early in life.
My sister has a good friend who lives 4 doors up the street from us. Today, a film crew took over his house to film the new ad for VB midstrength. The beer's very new on the market and is going into direct competition with the midstrength variety of the local brew, XXXX. There were many, MANY vehicles parked on both sides of the road and up both footpaths. The catering van set up in the BMX track carpark and there were dozens of men roaming around for most of the day. I really wanted to get a pic to show y'all but didn't get a chance to get up there to take any photos. Here's the logo instead:

My fella is taking part in a bream-fishing competition this weekend. I have my fingers and toes crossed for him. He's got a new fishing partner for the comp as his regular partner was unable to compete. Wish him luck, everyone - cash prizes and much booze!
My brain is fried after doing nights for the first time in years. Does anyone ever really get enough sleep on nights? I don't think I've ever managed to get more than 5 hours sleep, no matter how tired I am or how well I prepare the environment for sleeping.
