Snippets of my life as a cupcake-baking, knitting, fishing aunty.
Where are you, miss your blogs!
Hi Fran glad you had a good day, keep on blogging, I love it, want to set mine up now, is it easy? Jennyxx S and B Cardiff
Just out blog hopping and dropping in to say hi! Hope you are well!
Easter is here! I've been crazybusy in the kitchen and have whipped up home-made Rocky Road and Coconut Ice to give instead of store-bought Easter eggs. They're all packed nicely and ready to give except for the huge slab of coconut ice still in the fridge, which is surplus to requirements. When I eventually have kids, I'm guaranteed to be the mum who always makes the cakes and sweets for the home-made stall.
Don't they look pretty?
Apart from cooking, I've also been helping my dad work on my car. It's a 1966 Hillman Gazelle in a particularly revolting shade of fungus green. Check out this brochure for the Gazelle when it first came out (mine's a darker, murkier green):

Unfortunately, the green is contrasting too much with the lovely rust bloom on its horizontal surfaces, so we're taking it back to bare metal ready to be repainted. We've stripped the roof and boot-lid and they're currently sitting in the driveway with rust converter on them. Once they're etch primed and undercoated, we can move on panel by panel to the rest of the car before worrying about painting. Any suggestions re: colour? I'm thinking about being seriously boring and going for a very similar green, or perhaps a rich cream. Either way, it's going to look awful for a long while yet as the interior is completely fucacked as well.
B & I are going to a well-known Brisbane seafood restaurant tonight for a family celebration. The menu looks great and the restaurant is renowned for its excellent service and amazing food. Should be a lot of fun. I'll post a link if it's any good - don't want to give any names yet just in case it doesn't live up to its reputation.
I need to start knitting again. Far too much of my life is revolving around food right now!
